COUNSELOR II:

• Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field

Job Summary:

The Counselor will facilitate the normal developmental process of Rensselaer students and assist students whose normal developmental process is being impeded by adjustment problems and other disorders. The Counselor will work with students individually and in groups, as well as proactively work with the Rensselaer Community to create an environment that will allow students to maximize their personal growth. The Counselor will develop and implement mental health prevention and education programs.

Hiring may be at the Counselor I or Counselor II level. The Counselor II will also provide clinical supervision to assigned staff.

Shift:Business hours, Monday through Friday

Travel/Driving:No driving required; local travel between campus locations only.

Expected hiring range:

• Counselor I: $65,000 - $68,000 per year
• Counselor II: $75,000 - $80,000 per year

Pay transparency disclosure:The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
