Thiollier , the NPC who players led to St. Trina, is also drinking the nectar in an attempt to hear St. Trina’s words. However, he is having trouble with it. If players want to advance Thiollier’s questline, they will have to drink the nectar four times. On the fourth death screen, players will hear St. Trina’s voice. Once they have, they can pass her words on to Thiollier.

Instead of being grateful, Thiollier will be jealous that the player heard St.Trina’s words when he couldn’t. Imbibing the nectar again will trigger a fight between the player and Thiollier. Once players have defeated him, players will have to drink the nectar one more time to hear St. Trina’s final message, “You must kill Miquella… Grant him forgiveness.” Sharing these words with Thiollier is required to continue his quest in the next part of the DLC.

While the only thing imbibing the nectar itself will do is kill the player, the questline it is required for does offer several rewards for the player. First, when players defeat Thiollier in their fight, he will drop a Talisman called St. Trina's Smile, which can boost their attack power. Players will also receive a unique helm called St. Trina’s Blossom if they return to her location after defeating Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss.

Additionally, players will gain the ability to summon Thiollier to help them against the DLC’s final boss. They will have to visit him near St. Trina again after burning the Sealing Tree and speak to him. Then, players will need to summon Thiollier for their fight against Needle Knight Leda . Finally, they will be able to summon him for the final fight, after which Thiollier will drop his weapon and armor for the player to pick up. These items are only available if players complete the entire quest, including drinking the nectar as much as required.

Some Choices In Elden Ring Come With Negative Side-Effects

Apart from the fact that imbibing the nectar kills the player, there is no reason not to drink it.
